The prestigious Deutsche Welle has highlighted Jet Bank as one of the most significant developments in Albania’s financial sector. By introducing the first 100% digital banking model in the country, the bank is challenging traditional ways of banking operations. This model focuses on simplicity, speed, and transparency for customers. According to the analysis, Jet Bank represents a clear step toward a more modern and efficient system.
In the report published by Deutsche Welle titled “Will Cash Remain King in the Western Balkans?”, the well-known media outlet analyzes the large scale of the informal economy and how the digitalization of payments could contribute not only to combating informality but also to preventing money laundering.
At the center of the report is the CEO of Jet Bank, Ms. Fatbardha Rino, who, when asked about this development, states that “this is a good moment for such progress in Albania.”
She is also asked about her role as a woman in a male-dominated industry, to which she responds that such initiatives are not so much about gender, but about the experience built over the years that brings one to this point, both personally and collectively.
