The three candidates for chief prosecutor will be interviewed by the Supreme Prosecutorial Council on November 11.
In public interviews will be questioned prosecutors: Olsian Cela, Arta Marku and Fatjona Memcaj.
A few days ago, lawyer Lulzim Alushaj was disqualified from the race after failing to meet the requirement of 15 years of legal experience, while the latter appealed the decision. After facing the KLP in the Administrative Court, the lawyer again lost the trial, after the body ruled that he had just left the race.
Currently, the post of Chief Prosecutor is held by one of the candidates, Arta Marku, who was temporarily appointed on December 18, 2017. Her appointment has caused much controversy as such an interim post is not defined in the country’s Constitution.
