KLP’s Chairman Gent Ibrahimi, in a forced response, has justified the Prime Minister Edi Rama’s statements on “prosecutors and judges KCK”.
In a statement from a parliament speaker a few days ago, Rama attacked prosecutors and judges. He even warned of a new law to fight prosecutors and judges involved in a grouping he called the “KCK”, which, according to Rama, were grouped those who, knowing they did not pass the vet, abuse the office.
The statement elicited many reactions. One of them was of the National Association of Judges of the Republic of Albania and the Union of Judges, who condemned the statement. The KLP had not responded and the Union appealed for this institution to take a stand.
The reaction, however, came only this Friday and obligingly. The head of this institution, Gent Ibrahimi, did not condemn Rama’s statements but called them “political”.
“Prime Minister Edi Rama made a general and political accusation, and we have treated it as such. It’s not that we’re doing an in-depth investigation, but we’re looking at it in general. It is not enough to bring a trial, ”Ibrahimi said in his response to lawmakers.
