The Fatima fisherman, who was carrying 800 kg of cannabis on behalf of Moisi Habilaj, was caught in May 2015 in Italy after having been undisturbed by Albania. The head of the criminal organization, Moisiu, had been able to provide support for trafficking by some police officers in Tirana and Vlora.
In the Serious Crimes Prosecution’s file, provided by “Boldnews.al”, it is quite clear that Saimir Tahiri’s trafficker cousin had set up a well-organized network of police and other staff to ensure the drug-free passage in Italy. For prosecutors, it is suspected that the network of officials co-operated with Habilaj, because of the reports they had created in their activity with the then interior minister, Tahiri.
In the episode of drug trafficking with the Fatima fisherman, the Prosecution has identified the way that Moses Habilaj used as a “soldier” leader and police officer. Fatima Fisherman has stopped in Himara for fuel and fueling narcotics. The floating vessel was captured by the radar of the Durres Operational Maritime Operational Center (QNOD). Operators of this center have communicated with the Head of Police Post and have asked to verify this tool, which according to them was suspicious.
Sokol Bode, currently looking for cooperation with Habilaj, has reported false data, saying that the fisherman was “Roxeta” in the sea, known by QNOD. But, in fact, it resulted from investigations by the Katania Prosecutor’s Office that fishermen was “Fatima”, who was trafficked for cannabis on behalf of Habilaj.
The latter, moreover, was on board, giving seafarers instructions on where to navigate the floating vehicle so that they would not be caught by foreign police authorities. As for the Albanian police, Moisi Habilaj speaks with assurance that they (cops) are on his side.
In the conversations of Moisi Habilaj with Italian sailors on the board of Fatima, it is clear that he, besides Sokol Bodes, had other police officers in his service.
