Albanian Public Radio Television (RTSH), although it is one of the institutions with a huge budget in addition to jobs for party militants, offers almost nothing to Albanian taxpayers. Millions of ALL are misused for programs, broadcasts, equipment, and human resources, but still remains an agonizing and bankruptcy television.
Finally, in a bid to modernize in the same vein with private televisions, RTSH has announced a tender with a 334 million ALL limit fund to purchase the materials needed to turn the signal from SD to HD.
According to the documents provided by Boldnews.al, this money will be used to buy 4 cameras for studio use, 4 high definition lens for studio cameras, triax cable along with HD video cameras, 3 LCD video monitors as well as 4 full HD professional displays while the warranty of all devices is 2 years. But RTSH seems to be the abandoned space, where the holders use it for political favors and the money is thrown into the river for nothing, where there is passion and discipline, where there are abuses but no respect for work, for public funds; where there is disability, but not management, spirit, goodwill or ambition.
10 million euros go to it every year from the state budget for RTSH. Every citizen pays within the electricity bill a fee of 100 Lek per month for the maintenance of public television.
But in spite of this, Albanian Radio Television is a failed cooperative. Nowhere else is working so little, it is not so little produced, nowhere else is spending too much money and besides, it offers nothing but government propaganda.
Not long ago, RTSH has become part of the Supreme Audit Institution’s audits for abuses with tenders and public funds. In June, RTSH returned to the most hated television for Albanians because it did not make the European championship “France 2016” where the red and black national team took part in this important competition for the first time.
“The time of the screening of parades of government success will end, and the time of information and civic culture will begin” – this was the promise of Prime Minister Edi Rama in January 2013, a few months before he won the parliamentary elections. But despite electoral promises, RTSH today is not only demolished but even turned into a hotbed for the unemployed who are militants of ruling political parties.
“Albanians and Albanians do not deserve this third-world public screen, which is funded by their own pockets and, but there is an old communist-era communist at the disposal of the ruling rulers” – continued Rama before becoming prime minister .
Today, the ARS administration is led by leaders, mostly party militants who have a massive job mission rather than the vision to provide the public with information, culture, and contemporary broadcasts.
RTSH staff is not creating independence from politics, power, and propaganda, but is close to cheating, media corruption, and soft-core manipulation.
Turned into an attachment to the current power, RTSH has blindly served the policy, in its mission of destroying the truth. For years, the destruction of truth has forcibly separated RTSH from its proper mission, which is the sound media service for the public.
“I want to underline strongly today that Albania does not deserve the shameful show that the Albanian Public Television is giving every day, violating the dignity of this country with ignorance, servility and desperate backwardness.” – Edi Rama’s promise in 2013 came before he came in power.
