Tirana’s Judicial Police officers have finally been able to question Gerald Baramucan, the only survivor of the EC 145 helicopter incident, in which two of his colleagues, Florian Deliaj,and Donald Hoxha died after crashing into the waters of Shkodra’ Lake.
Boldnews.al learns that, as expected, Lieutenant Baramucca remembers nothing from the day the three-person military helicopter crashed into the water near the village of Grizha. Baramuca, who had been in the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for four days after the incident, was questioned by Tirana’s Police Judicial Police officers on Sunday evening.
Since the day of the incident, he has been in a state of shock and the investigating authorities have not been able to obtain his testimony, which may have served to unravel the dynamics of the incident. On Sunday afternoon, doctors at the Trauma Hospital assessed that his emotional and medical condition was acceptable to the Judicial Police for questioning.
Despite expectations, investigators failed to obtain valuable information from Baramuca, who was in the back of a military helicopter driven by Deliaj and Hoxha.
Boldnews.al has learned that Tirana Police officers, delegated to carry out investigative actions by the Shkodra Prosecutor’s Office, have asked the injured detailed questions about the itinerary, the movement, why they were in the area, the moment of crash, if there were any visible defects during the helicopter flight, as well as the final moments before the aircraft collided with the surface of Lake Shkodra.
State Police sources told Boldnews.al that, for every question, Lieutenant Baramucca replied that he did not remember anything. the expertise of the helicopter registration camera, found Saturday in lake waters, is expected to be carried out.
