As the trial ends on defendants on the charge of “Remote Reporting” Albert Veliu or “Babalja”, Fredi Alizoti, journalist Jetmir Olldashi and former DP’s MP Ervin Salianji, the Tirana prosecution is taught to have opened a second file for verifying the sayings of the “Babale” phenomenon.
The subject of the investigation into this case is learned to be the actions of former Serious Crimes Prosecutor Besim Hajdarmataj, who during 2018 was the prosecutor who met Albert Veliu in his office at Serious Crimes. “Shqiptarja.com” learns that the case is being investigated by Tirana prosecutor Kol Hysenaj, while prosecutor Besim Hajdarmataj has been questioned on behalf of this investigation. The latter was asked about the quality of the person who knew the circumstances of the incident, as in testimony that “Babalja” told prosecutors Parparim Kulluri and Gentian Osmani, that before going to the DP and journalist Jetmir Olldashi, he had held a meeting with Besim Hajdarmataj in the latter’s office.
This meeting was held in order to “Babalja” to inform prosecutor Hajdarmataj about drug trafficking in Vlora and the involvement of Agron Xhafa, brother of the then minister Fatmir Xhafa, in this drug trafficking. It is learned that Hajdarmataj, after hearing Albert Veliu’s confession, did not proceed with the registration of the criminal proceedings in order to investigate the drug trafficking. But the witness forwarded it to the State Intelligence Service, urging service leaders to carry out investigative actions with Albert Veliu.
But the move by the former Serious Crimes Officer is described as “abuse of power” by his colleagues in Tirana and has subsequently begun investigations to clarify the criminal position of prosecutor Besim Hajdarmataj. The latter gave his explanations on this matter where he was asked as a person who knew about the event.
