The stalemate at the Constitutional Court created after Vettingu’s departure will be part of the discussion of the KED meeting to be held at the Supreme Court this Tuesday.
In the list of candidates for the Constitutional Court, candidates come from the judiciary and outside it.
For those who do not come from the ranks of judges and prosecutors, scrutiny is carried out by the Justice Appointments Council, which, with the result of vetting judges, makes the best proposals even more important.
The Justice Appointments Council has mandated eight rapporteurs. They are judges and prosecutors who have gone through the vetting process and their professionalism depends on the accuracy of the file check for the 18 Constitutional Court candidates.
Non-judge constitutional candidates have filled out a self-declaration form for their human past, income and possessions. While the judges candidates depends on vetting.
It is known that out of 18 candidates, 10 come from the judiciary, and 8 of them have gone through the vetting process.
Meanwhile, the KED has called on the Albanian Parliament and the institution of the President to announce the announcement of potential candidates to be nominated by the Constitutional Court. So the Assembly and the President have the right to nominate one member of the Constitutional Court.
