State Police is involved in the “fever” of an expected DCM that will regulate the ranks, which translates into wage and better job position.
For some weeks, there have been massive staff movements in some district police directors, where the “favorites” of superiors, or those who have strong political or business support, have taken key positions.
But what is expected to happen to the State Police? Boldnews.al has learned that the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the State Police, has submitted several proposals to the Council of Ministers for the ranking system of senior officers. In these proposals, the most important is the way of obtaining degrees without competing at the Security Academy.
The DCM that is expected to be released in the coming weeks will give major rank to the police all officers running a sector, police station or director. For example, if a district police director does not have the right rank to run that directorate, the DCM gives the rank, which then translates into a better salary.
All this move is done in order to favor some of the “pet” by police superiors or the Ministry of Interior. In anticipation of this DCM, a fierce “fight” has started in the police ranks.
Over the last few weeks, there have been dozens of appointments of some officers in key police sectors with the sole purpose of obtaining a major rank when the DCM is approved. Consequences can be fatal, as it is learned that there are unskilled officers in these posts, which in the future will be the new “face” of the police.
A few days ago, the new State Police structure came into force. Soon after, 170 employees were dismissed in several district police circles. The addition of new police stations, the additions of some new sectors to the police or the abolition of some other sectors are being processed by State Police specialists for weeks to enable the implementation of the new structure.
Minister Tahiri confirmed several days ago that the police are working on the full implementation of the new structure, while recently a series of problems have emerged, where the most important is the reduction of salaries for 2,000 police officers.
