The patrolling of the Tirana police car leaves much to be desired.
We have often seen that in the secondary streets, at the edge of the palace, lie for a long time a police car. This is done by the self-employed, who in this case “hesitate” to move with the vehicles. Moreover, there have been cases where drivers sell the oil of these vehicles, justifying the bosses after having patrolled for several hours.
Already, in order to overcome these problems, the Ministry of Interior has opened a tender for the “purchase and installation of the GPS control system of the vehicles of the Tirana Police Directorate”. It is learned that the fund is 137 million Lek without VAT.
Bold News has secured the documents of this tender, where it turns out that the process is being done to improve the work and increase the speed of action against criminal events. According to her, the police are building a wide infrastructure in online monitoring and reporting via IT systems. One of these is the GPS monitoring system.
“The system is flexible enough and gives you the ability to choose the preferred monitoring equipment and is compatible with most of the devices on the market today. In this way we have the advantage of having a wide range of equipment installed by different manufacturers, according to specific requirements and cost of equipment. The system must offer both modes of communication, via GPRS and SMS, be multilingual and can be customized in color and logo according to user preferences. Integration with other accessories and accessories is another advantage of the system and equipment specifications, “says the documents provided by Bold News.
According to her, the operating room of the Tirana Local Government is comprised of 40 computers with operating system. “The purpose of this procurement is to set up the GPS system with the HW and S components relevant for the equipment of the Albanian state police vehicles”, reads these documents. It is further added that the object of this investment is the purchase of ready-made equipment and programs for vehicle monitoring system via GPS such as GPS / GSM devices, monitor screen etc.
