The Renaissance MP Alfred Peza declared 1.13 billion lek savings from his salary and his wife. Peza says he has been one of the most paid journalists in Albania, but in a page confirmation that he himself submitted to the court results that his salary at RTV Ora News is 80 thousand new skins.
Naturally, questions arise: Has the former journalist and his employer Ylli Ndroqi falsified the salary certificate or is Alfred Peza’s real wage while running Ora News?
If this is Peza’s real salary then it is theoretically impossible for him to save 1.13 billion ALL from his salary and his wife?
If the salary is counterfeit then legal problems start here that Peza’s former employer and the MP himself.
“This is Alfred Peza’s time when he worked at Vizion Plus, why did he have 10 million leks of salary a month? This Alfred Peza when working at RTV Ora Ora, why it won so many thousands of thousands of Euros that all Albania knows, “said Peza, meaning that RTV Ora News had a wage greater than any other media where he worked .
But according to certification 04.03.2010 issued by RTV Ora News, former journalist Alfred Peza was paid a very low salary for the position of the General Director of RTV Ora News. His gross salary was around 80,000 leks a month and as the gross salary is not reflected in the certificate, his net salary is about 60,000 leks.
Proof of pay was revealed in a lawsuit of Peza’s former wife, Adelina Tolit, to former journalist Alfred Peza in 2010. The lawsuit required a re-evaluation of the retirement pension for Alfred Peza’s son. But the latter had not even admitted in the court session to pay an amount of 50,000 leks a month for his son, who was then in the 8th grade. In court, Peza claimed that there was no financial possibility since the second marriage had two other juvenile children. The former journalist agreed to help the boy from the first marriage of only 10,000 leks a month, which is too small to cover school expenses and courses.
“According to the certificate dated 04.03.2010 issued by RTV ORA NEWS, it results that the gross monthly salary of the defendant (Alfred Peza) is 80 000 lek per month. As noted above, the Court considers that the compulsory levy should be increased to 10,000 ALL per month and not to the extent required by the plaintiff (Adelina Toli) “- the court decision states.
For three years Alfred Peza has worked at RTV Ora News, owned by Ylli Ndroq. Initially, he started working as Director of Information and then held the position of the General Director of RTV Ora News. Also, Peza had two political shows a week, “Debate Hour” and “Interview Hour”. The salary spilling on former journalist Alfred Peza at that time exceeded 10,000 euros.
But the salary declared before the court results several times lower than the salary Peza claims publicly. After the publication of this document, naturally a few questions arise:
– Is Alfred Peza really paid for 60,000 leks per month?
– The employer, in the present case, RTV Ora News, has declared a few times lower salary and tax, to avoid taxation?
– Did the tax evasion Ylli Ndroqi and RTV Ora News take on Alfred Peza’s salary?
What is fiscal evasion? (Explanation by countryweb.al)
The meaning of fiscal evasion, according to the science of finance, is related to all those actions that aim to reduce or eliminate the fiscal contribution to the state coffers from citizens or entities, in violation of specific provisions and fiscal norms.
Fiscal evasion is the non-payment of tax obligations that derive from the law. Fiscal evasion has a devastating effect on the government’s fiscal policy by causing the State a loss of its fiscal revenue.
In total, world tax evasion numbers a figure between 21,000 and 32,000 billion dollars, equivalent to the United States, Japan and Germany combined GDP. Fiscal evasion is possible through several actions that take place in very different situations:
– in carrying out sales or services operations without issuing a regular invoice for the action taken against the citizen / consumer (the so-called “black” sale);
– drafting false declaration of income with the consequence of a defective or erroneous fiscal statement that results in a lack of real liabilities;
– carrying out an economic activity outside of any rule: for example, “after work in black” by employees (public or private);
