Elona Kana, wife of Socialist Vice-President of the Central Election Commission, Denar Biba, faces Thursday’s noon Independent Qualification Commission for the second time, after the institution rejected her request to exclude the veteran bodyguard Xhensila Pine .
Kana, a legal aide at the Supreme Court, demanded that Pines be expelled from the judiciary last session (October 3), arguing that “the commissioner is politically elected by the Democratic Party and, therefore, reflected a biased attitude during re-evaluation process, to politically hit husband Denar Biba ”.
Another KPK body has reviewed Kana’s procedural request and has decided not to accept it. The ruling reads that Kana will face the same panel again, headed by Olsi Komici, rapporteur Jensila Pine and member Suela Zhegu.
In the previous hearing, the subject Elona Kana hinted that the revaluation process has raised a number of issues, especially in the property criterion. According to her, this negative result was due to the “bias of the Pine relator”, which did not consider a financial report submitted by it.
“Boldnews.al” reported earlier on the assets of spouses Denar Biba and Elona Kana, which found numerous, questionable financial assets, as well as three apartments in their possession, one of which was a gift.
