Diber’s lawyer Esmeralda Cami (Keshi) was smoothly confronted with the Vetting Commission this Monday, shortly before a relative person appeared in “Bild” eavesdropping as one of the key people in the electoral “massacre” of Dibra, in the partial local elections of 2016.
Prosecutor Cami (Keshi) has family ties with Arben Keshin, senior official of the Interior Ministry, who is intercepted talking to Prime Minister Edi Rama, Damian Gjiknuri and other political figures to secure votes in favor of the Socialist Party.
Arben Keshi is from Dibra and, according to the Civil Registry, turns out to be the uncle’s son Gentjan Cash, spouse of prosecutor Esmeralda Cami.
The latter, currently the commandant of the Dibra Prosecutor’s Office, has been the leader of this structure even in 2016, when the early local elections took place in this city following the arrest of Shukri Xhelili.
The interceptions recently published by “Bild” are part of the “184” Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes, which has launched the investigation following a denunciation of the Democratic Party’s political entity.
At that time, the DP appealed to the Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s Office, because, according to her, there was no confidence that Dibra’s local prosecution would investigate electoral crimes.
Already in the light of the tapping, it seems that the fear of the DP for failing to carry out investigations by the Dibra Prosecutor’s Office has been vindicated.
The “Bild” interceptions, released this Monday, place Arben Keshin in most of the communications. His involvement in the alienation of the vote, according to what is heard in the eavesdropping of the German newspaper, would most likely affect the fact that the Dibra Prosecutor’s Office, headed by his family, Esmeralda Cami, did not conduct any investigation.
Cami was in charge of the Debar prosecution until 2017, when he was transferred to the prosecution office of Mat. After Arta Mark’s election as Provisional General Prosecutor, Esmeralda Cami (Keshi) is again appointed Head of the Dibra Prosecutor’s Office, but this time “temporary.
Esmeralda Cami faced this Monday with the Independent Qualification Commission. At the hearing, KPC troops reported some “minor” problems, which, most likely, would not penalize her career.
