The Municipality of Tirana, headed by ErionVeliaj, has overcome any prediction of abuse of public funds. According to the documents provided by Boldnews.al, this institution has opened a tender with a limit of 252 million lek (old) for the purchase of 2 computers, 1 laptop, 1 printer, 1 photocopy and 2 workstations.
All of these equipment will serve for the Municipal Police which, after selective actions towards traders, wants to be modernized. It is unclear what the computers and printers with very high parameters will come into operation, since the Municipal Police has been briefly met by handwritten fines. Even to street vendors, the Municipal Police uses their hands to exert violence against them. Even the records held for the car tire lockers are made in a moment and in handwriting.
But what’s best to imagine is how we misuse our funds in the worst way by mayor ErionVeliaj. According to technical data, 3 computers and 4 printers are of a good quality but never justify the price set by the Municipality of Tirana.
Boldnews.al contacted an IT expert to understand the approximate price range of these electronic devices for the Municipality of Tirana. For two desktop computers, the IT expert said the atom und cost from 600-800 euros each depending on the brand while the laptop can go up to 850-950 euros. Regarding the Workstation, this is a sophisticated computer that is mainly used for graphic design in media or designs from major architectural studios. The IT expert clarifies Boldnews.al that these computers are used for jobs that are long hours and that the computer should stay 24 hours lit. The prices of the Workstation (an advanced dektop computer) range from 1,500 euros in the cheapest to 15,000 euros the most expensive. It is not known what can serve the Municipal Police such computers, worthy of producing 7D architectural films and projects, but according to the inventory 2 such computers were commissioned.
The IT expert was asked by Boldnews.al for printers and photocopiers, part of the tendered list by the Municipality of Tirana. According to specific data, a device that has the role of printer and photocopy ranges from 370 euros and maximum captures 1500 euro.
If we make a calculation, all the equipment that the City Police wants to buy does not exceed 50 thousand euros, but Veliaj wants to pay 250 million ALL for these devices. Strong suspicions arise over this tender, which at first glance looks normal, but if it searches in the interior, it sees that dark corruptive goals are hidden there.
Even this time, Veliaj showed that Tirana’s tenders are not only abusing public funds, but also filling the pockets of the oligarchs around him.
