More than 10 days ago, Tirana City officials were asked by the prosecution to submit contracts related to the administration of the Sharra landfill.
After the death of the 17-year-old Ardit Gjoklaj, the prosecution has also begun investigating the way the 3R landing company handled the landfill, reports Abcnews.
The Municipality of Tirana did not submit to the prosecution any documents proving that Edurim Teqja, currently a person declared in search, obtained by law the landfill management, where the waste was selected.
Prosecutor Julian Zonja addressed the Municipality of Tirana with a seizure order requesting all the practice of Sharr’s office to be made available. In the seizure decision, the prosecution seeks a contract with the public enterprise of the Municipality of Verona in Italy for the management of urban waste.
The full dossier of the subcontracting contract that the Municipality of Tirana together with the Italian company have made with 3R companies, administered by the person declared promising Edurim Teqja. The suspicions are that Erjon Veliaj and his subordinates do not have a concrete tender development practice on how to administer the Landfill of Sharra for urban waste sorting. It is learned that the prosecution requested from the municipality to make available the records of the monitoring of the landfill of Sharra, if such inspection was carried out. But even though over 10 days have passed since the commencement of these seizure orders, the Municipality has not yet sent a response to the prosecution.
The prosecutor also requested from the Business Registration Center to provide forms and documents that companies, such as Italy and the company 3R, have submitted to the NRC.
After the death of Ardit Gjoclajt in Sharra, it was found that dozens of uninsured people were working there. 5 people were prosecuted.
