The “Renaissance” character, Erjon Veliaj, has yet to find the time to express his condolences to the death of 17-year-old Ardit Gjoklaj who died horribly at the Sharra landfill, under the administration of the Municipality of Tirana.
Facade politician began his career as a minister in 2013, taking a side with a Roma child who had damaged the limbs. Before the cameras he had collected by “command”, Veliaj held a few meters to the Roma minion to be sent to the Military Hospital. As soon as it came out of the camera lens, he released the defective boy and a car of the staff of the ministry completed the mission launched by Veliaj.
Two years have passed since then, and Erion Veliaj, now mayor, continues to introduce himself as the man he thinks of Tirana children. Even these days, while the Gjoklaj family is mourning for the loss of Ardit, Veliaj continues to talk about children’s parks in Tirana. But so far, no single word about Ardit Gjoklaj, the boy who had chosen to help the family by working in the field of waste.
Arditi spent about a month working on the Sharra landfill and was not registered in the private company records that had received the concession from the Municipality of Tirana. Administrator of the concession company “3 R” is Edurim Teqja, chairman of the Socialist Party of Peqin. The latter, transforming a family business into Sharra waste processing, has also employed his brother-in-law, Besnik Brahja, to secure the perimeter with private guards. Moreover, Brahja was considered by many landfill workers as the “big boss” as he dealt with the administration of all landfill works.
The rainy rainy day, on August 7, Ardit Gjoklaj was working on landifill when an excavator struck him to death. Forensic expertise found in the body of the minor injuries in all parts of it. The excavator’s head, Edmond Kallari, did not notice at all that Arditi was in the garbage heap and did not notice that struck him. The Gjokla Body was found the next morning by other employees, who reported the police. The latter hesitated to report the event to the early moments. Even when reporting, the name of the landfill concession company was wrong. The police in the first announcement called “3 K” and then specified it in “3 R”. Also the name of the administrator, declared in search, Edurim Teqja, the police gave the initials, E.T., apparently in an attempt not to reveal the identity of Peqinas “communion”.
Following the investigative actions for the death of Ardit Gjoklajt, persons from the management staff of the company “3 R”, as well as landfill workers were questioned. From the set of evidence, it turns out that company officials did not know about their employee Ardit Gjoklajn. While his colleagues at the landfill, everyone knew him. It is clear that the company’s executives have attempted to avoid responsibility for his death, even mentioning the fact that the minor may have been accidentally in the country where he died and had no connection with the company.
In the economist’s records, the name Ardit Gjoklaj does not exist. Tour leaders were told in front of Judicial Police officers that they did not know the dead boy.
Already that Ardit Gjoklaj lost his life and Edurim Teqja was declared in search, it is clear that the streets of the “carpenters” of Tirana and the “peacock peacekeepers” will cease here. In fact, this is also a good opportunity for Veliaj to give way to the dubious waste processing project of Tirana through the company “Eco-Tirana”. This is a project that would be implemented even if Edurim Teqja would not be declared in search of justice for the tragic death of Ardit. He would have been obliged to create the space to launch the project “Veliaj-Bollino” under the banner of a public waste management company. “Boldneës.al” has previously reported on the “veronese” project of the mayor of Tirana. Now that Edurim Teqja went out of the way, Veliaj is much easier to remove his “obstacle”, as they are representatives of the same party.
Carlo Bollino, who also calls him “Car.Bol”, has put his media in the service of the correct reporting, even with details of the horrific death of Ardit Gjokla. In a normal situation, media behavior should have been such. But for “Car.Bol”, which is only in the service of its financial and clientelist aims, the media space it creates in this case is characterized by unpleasant odors such as landfill
