Naturalized Italian Carlo Bollino, who owns two media in our country: Shqiptarja.com and Report TV, turns out to be the favorite of this government in terms of advertising funds.
Through a research at Spendingdata.al, Bollinos media companies have received the bulk of public funds billed by state institutions for advertising spots and announcements. This, despite the fact that Report TV is not the most watched television, or Shqiptarja.com is not the most widely read newspaper.

Referring to data, only for 2014 Bollino has benefited through Albanianja.com nearly 67 million ALL from the state budget, for publications and announcements. Meanwhile, even if you add the revenue to the A1 Report television (so called up to 2016) this figure is rounded to 68 million ALL, paid by the Albanian citizens’ tax.
Compared to other media, Bollino turns out to be the top player for 2014 for benefiting public advertising funds. Even funds for Shqiptarja.com and A1 Report are nearly double the funds received from all other media by collecting them together.
So Focus Media News that includes News 24, Panorama, Gazeta Shqiptare and Radio Rash in total have 2.8 million Leks for advertising while Vizion Plus has benefited about 13 million Lek for 2014. When watching Top Channel, TV Klan, Ora News or ABC News have not received any advertising penny for this year, naturally give rise to doubts as to whether the two Bollino media are the major beneficiaries of public funds.
Even for the year 2015-2016, government institutions have selected Bollino’s media to promote advertising spots or press releases.
Albanianja.com has collected 15 million Lek from taxpayers pockets, while A1 Report is about 14.8 million leks. In 2016, the A1 Report is fragmented, with former Socialist MP Koço Kokëdhima and the rest Carlo Bollino take part. The latter records at the NRC the new Media Report TV, but Bollino uses another name to record his media, “Multiscreen”. It is not known the purpose of this disguise, but “Multiscreen” (Report TV) is one of the state budget beneficiaries, absorbing 5 million leks for advertising for 2016. So in total for these two years, Bollino has collected about 35 million leks .
Meanwhile, other media are back behind Bollinos in terms of gaining publicity. Focus Media News (News 24, Panorama, Gazeta Shqiptare, Radio Rash) in total received 25 million lekë, Top Channel 22 million lekë, Vizion Plus 5 million lekë, TV Klan 7 million lekë, ABC News 12 million lekë. Meanwhile there are also media such as Ora News that for three consecutive years has not received public funds for advertising.
On April 17, Carlo Bollino in his editorial questioned the funding that is being made to the Albanian media. Even the Albanian Albanian wrote about advertising, showing some sort of dissatisfaction.
“Motives for doubts about the origin of media funding are not lacking. The advertising market in Albania is in deep crisis, with budgets often reduced to 50 percent. “- Bollino complained, who today needs to explain why he is the main recipient of state advertising.
