The Tirana court seized the assets of the firm “Stargold Albania”, owned by three Italian nationals. Andrea Tufariello, Pietro Cosentino and Domenico Papalia registered in this NRC this company with the aim of trading gold between Albania, Macedonia and Italy. According to Bold News’s ruling, it turns out that these people are alleged to be members of the Mafia-based Calabrian clan Ndragheta and the purpose of opening this firm was just money laundering. So far they have cleaned about 750,000 euros in Albania.
Meanwhile, the court seized 141 822 euros and 53 008 lekë. It is learned that on 2 September 2015 the company “Stargold Albania” was registered with partner Andrea Tufariello and Pietro Cosentino with 50% each. Its object is to carry out any lawful activity relating to the trading and processing of gold and its byproducts including, but not limited to, the purchase, sale, transfer, transformation, disposition, possession, etc. This society has its center in Tirana, the “Dëshmorët e 4 Shkurtit” street.
From the evidence provided, it results that on the account of the commercial entity “Stargold Albania” sh.pk are consistently deposited considerable monetary amounts, which according to the invoices result to be related to the sale of gold from this company, mainly to the subject Esposito Preziosisrl Italy . Amounts deposited on behalf of the company Stargold Albania sh.pk at a second tier bank by Esposito Preziosisrl Italy for the period February 2006 – April 2006 result 561 644 euros. On April 7, 2016 it was found that at the same bank was transferred the amount of 190 000 euros from the subject Star Dust 2015 DOO Macedonia, with the same description, gold sale from the subject Stargold Albania.
The decision states that during the preliminary investigations, information from the Interforce Italia mission was administered, according to which the members of the Stargold Albania sh.pk are signatories for involvement in criminal activities, mainly criminal offenses of illegally obtaining the property. According to the contract for the sale of capital dated 20.10.2015 it turns out that the new partner of Stargold Albania sh.pk has become Italian citizen Domenico Papalia, who bought about 30% of the capital. According to police information it turns out that this Italian citizen is part of the criminal group Ndragheta Italy.
